Big talker!

When Kimmie "talks" to us, she uses her whole body. It is just adorable! She opens her mouth really wide and "woo woos" to get her point across!

GSP power!

Kimmie and foster sis, Ceres! They are saying-"Get off the computer and play with us! Aren't we cute?!"

happy holidays from Kimberley!

Kimberley here! I want to wish everyone viewing Petfinder (and my blog) a great holiday. Even thinking about bringing me into your home warms my doggie heart. I am a loved member of my foster family. A few weeks ago,who knows what unmentionable fate awaited me?! Now, I am the official bed and couch warmer at my foster home. I am learning to run into the kitchen when I hear the tinkle of a leash, as it means it is time for a walk. I am a good little walker and my foster mom thinks I am going to be a nice lean little lady pretty soon. I am relishing being the member of a real family-we all rush to the door when the bell rings. I love to meet new people so I wag my tail at everyone who comes over. My foster mom says I am a little flirt, because I bat my eyes and let anyone rub my tummy. Well, time to go. I heard mom may have a Christmas bone with my name on it. love, Kimmie

What is new with Kimberley...

Well, we are so happy to be hosting Kimmie. What a nice little dog! Because she is housetrained and polite, no chewing or getting in trouble here, we give her the run of the house. For her that consists of one of our warm beds or the dog couch or chair. I don't know what she was used to in her past life, but she is settling right into the "princess" lifestyle, no problem. Another great characteristic she has, is her gentle nature with everyone-dogs, visitors, kids-she is happy to quietly greet them, not running and jumping on people. She is doing great on leash. She isn't crazy about the snowy weather, but she is a good little walker-no tugging or barking at other dogs she sees. We think Kimmie is around 2, the perfect pointer age, past the puppy behaviors and into well-mannered lady dog ways. She is a good little listener, and has mastered "back," a good behavior to keep dogs from running out open doors or cars. And on top of it all, she is a pretty little thing, too.

HELP! My foster family is crazy!

As you can see from this photo, my foster mother has me bundled up like an Eskimo. She and the other dogs go for long walks in the SNOW! I don't know why, but they seem to think it is fun to walk miles in the cold, icky snow. I wag my tail, slide along, and am polite on leash. But I can't wait for it to warm up. My foster mom has me wear a jacket and neck warmer so I don't get cold, but what about my little feet??? If you want a nice, well mannered dog that won't force you to take long walks in the winter, I am your girl. We can save our strolls for beautiful spring days. Talk to you soon, Kimberley

feeling right at home!

Kimberley is a happy girl who doesn't let anything get her down! Today she had a vet visit where they implanted her microchip with a super huge needle, but her tail just kept beating against the exam table. Then the chimney sweep with his big old scary vacuum that sent my 2 dogs to head for the hills (in other words, to my bed). But Kimberley just kept an interested eye on the proceedings. Unfortunately, she will not make a good guard dog-she's a better cheerleader and general morale booster. So, this little charmer is comfy and cozy in front of our roaring fire (well, gas fired logs, but you get the idea)!

I'm coming to town!

Hi, I'm Kimberley and I'm waiting to get on a transport from Arkansas, where I'm at a shelter--
---to my new foster mommy in Illinois. Thought I'd say "hello" already---in case you are looking for a cute little girl like me! My foster mommy will have more information about me really, really soon!
